Cody Wilson is a systems administrator, and entrepreneur currently residing in the Quad Cities, IA.

In May of 2010, Cody helped to found the QC Co-Lab, the area’s first and currently only makerspace. In September of 2011, he organized a live-streamed charity event on the Internet for Child’s Play Charity and raised over $4,100.  You can find more information about the event, MegaMan For Healing, here.

As an IT systems administrator, he has worked most recently with healthcare IT, supporting over 100 users in a Microsoft enterprise network, working with technologies such as Windows Server 2008 R2,  SharePoint 2010, SQL 2008 R2, as well as monitoring and auditing applications to maintain and ensure HIPAA and HITECH compliance. In the past, he has worked with marketing firms, Internet service providers, and other private organizations, giving him a diverse technical background requiring him to often think outside of the box.

Cody has a multitude of other extra-vocational activities he participates in.  He is a podcaster that talks tech with fellow geek David Ford on their audio show The Nature of Two Geeks, and is the technical director for a live video sociopolitical commentary show Two and a Half Beards. In the past, he’s assisted with established podcast houses such as Leo Laporte’s TWiT.TV and The Tech Buzz. In March of 2012, he was ordained a Dudeist Preist in the Church of the Latter Day Dude, making him a legal officiant for weddings.  Other hobbies range from music composition, production, and remixing, playing various instruments such as the trumpet, keyboard, and drums, amateur web design, socializing with his friends, and spending time with Sharon.
